After dark in Kuta, Bali

Bali has become a popular destination among holidaymakers, both from home and abroad. The number of tourist arrivals has both risen and fallen in recent years.

They reached their nadir after the deadly bombings on the resort island. The first, in Kuta, was in 2002; the second occurred almost exactly three years later.

These days, more and more holidaymakers are returning to the island, known for its beautiful beaches, Hindu culture and tranquil villages.

The rising number of tourists is helping to boost Bali’s image as one of the world’s most favorite places to visit.
